CAN YOU BEAT THE BURNSIDE?
Get ready for Portland's only reverse-timed race! Leave as early as you want, or as late as you dare. Your challenge is to reach the bridge before it goes up at 9am-SHARP!
Cruise along the super-fast 8K course (and shorter 2K option)...ALL DOWNHILL! Starting at the World Forestry Center in Hoyt Arboretum, you'll descend past the Rose Gardens in Washington Park to PGE Park, ending with a straight shot down Burnside. The Finish Line Festival takes place on the Burnside Bridge--the "epicenter" of Portland, defining both north and south, east and west!
At 9am, the bridge will go up while you and thousands of participants and spectators are serenaded by the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers...marking the end of the race and the beginning of the party!
Reach the Bridge is an opportunity to honor lung cancer survivors and pay special tribute to those lost to the disease. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Lung Association of Oregon and help fund lung cancer research. Participants who fundraise for this event are eligible for great prizes and will help fund the research that makes an impact on this devastating disease.
